A lot have been said about the iPad, you would have already know what it have or have not. Just to re-cap, the iPad does not have USB port and webcam, it does not support java and flash. So why iPad when all these supposedly standards are not included?
First of all, iPad is not a computer. It's not intended to replace your PC or laptop. It serves as a in-between for your phone and PC. It's give you the convenience of instant start to your surfing habit, reading emails, ebooks, watching movies etc on your bedside, by the pool or on the plane, anywhere you can think of including your bathroom.
You do not have to worry about registry, 5 minutes to boot your PC, viruses and defragmentation. Your grandparents would have no problem with the device. My 71 years old father-in-law does not how to use a smartphone or a PC, however he is happily using the iPhone that I have given to him. Now with the iPad, he will have bigger screen and more full-fledged application. He will be able to use it without having to learn anything. Then my 2 year old have been playing all sorts of games and piano from my iPhone, I doubt he will have any problem with it. So now you see iPad's target audience?
